Our Work
RBSC was hired in 2006 after the Massachusetts Attorney General took the unprecedented step of charging the national nursing home company with manslaughter, abuse, neglect and fraud, without charging any employees in the wake of the death of a resident.
RBSC developed and implemented a multi-pronged strategy for Life Care that included: 1) a proactive public relations effort to highlight activities at each facility statewide and in MA; 2) a government relations campaign to build and enhance Life Care’s relationships with elected officials; and 3) a litigation communications campaign designed to combat inaccurate reporting and ensure that the judicial process was not tainted.
The result: Coverage of the incident and Life Care’s role became more balanced. Certain charges were dropped, and in 2010 the SJC ruled that the company could not be found guilty of manslaughter.
