The Boston Red Sox, one of the most storied franchises in American sports history, began a new era as the ownership group, New England Sports Ventures (NESV), led by John Henry, Tom Werner and Larry Lucchino officially took over on Feb. 27, 2002.

NESV’s vision has helped the Boston Red Sox win their first World Series in 86 years, capture another championship just three seasons later, and put the club in position to compete as one of Major League Baseball’s premier teams of this decade.

Our Work

Rasky Baerlein’s client relationship with the Boston Red Sox originated in 2001 when the firm aided the team’s current ownership group in their bid to purchase the team. During the bidding process, RBSC served as the local contact for the group, helping them navigate the trickier straits of city politics and intense local media scrutiny. One of the first initiatives RBSC launched under the new ownership team was to breed brand awareness beyond Boston and deep into the team’s six-state territory. The “Paint New England Red” campaign, was a successful regional brand awareness effort and part of an overall effort to tap into the storied team's national fan base.

Rasky Baerlein continues to provide daily support to the Boston Red Sox ownership team, executive Management and in-house PR team in the areas of marketing communication, events management, public affairs, and community relations.

The power of public opinion can never be underestimated, and no one understands that better than the executives at Rasky Baerlein.”
