Betsy is the director of marketing and business development for Rasky Baerlein Strategic Communications. She manages the internal marketing and public relations activities of the firm and focuses on raising the firm’s visibility aswell as targeted marketing efforts. Betsy brings a unique perspective with her understanding of the agency, strong management skills, and creative, proactive thinking.
Betsy is responsible for the development and management of a comprehensive marketing and communications plan for the firm as well as the website, collateral, media relations for firm announcements and support of some of the business development activities.
Prior to joining Rasky Baerlein, Betsy served as the assistant director of community affairs and media relations at The New York Times. She was instrumental in developing and executing communications strategies aimed at raising the brand visibility for the newspaper and its related entities, such as books and television documentaries.
Betsy was also part of the team that launched The New York Times Travel Show, an annual consumer event with nearly 25,000 attendees, and the Discovery Times Channel, a digital cable television network jointly-owned by The New York Times Company and the Discovery Channel.
She has 10 years of experience working for various book publishers, most recently as the director of publicity for Broadway Books, an imprint of the Doubleday Broadway Publishing Group.
Betsy earned a bachelor’s degree in English from Fordham University.
